NBA and NHL shouldn't start until Christmas Day, anyway

Seasons way too long, IMO. And before you start on baseball, yes, it has stretched out its playoffs, but also, the game of baseball is built on long, languid stretches and streaks. It's season's length is an integral part of the game. Where as with NHL and NBA, so many teams make the playoffs that the season is almost moot as it is.
